Fein MultimasterTool

The Fein Multimaster tool is the one that started it all.  The Fein Multimaster was the first of the versatile oscillating tools on the market.  As time has gone by, you will now see oscillating tools from some brands and more on the way.  While some of the other manufactures like Bosch, Dremel and Rockwell make a good product, there are also some very inexpensive tools that just can't compare.


The Fein Multimaster tool was top of the line before there was no competition and it still holds that position.  Some may baulk at the price, but my experience has been that a true quality tool that will last you a lifetime, comes with a price.  So if you are looking for an oscillating tool that will hold up to everyday use, or you just want the top of the line, check out the Fein Multi Tool.

The Fein Multimaster tool is available in several different versions and configurations.  To determine which one is best suited for you, review your intended use.  I recommend getting a package that has a wide selection of different blade types.  This will allow you to try the tool on different applications.  You may have a specific application for the tool, but remember these are multi tools so you may be surprised at the different uses you may come up with.

The Multimaster has unlimited uses.  Check out just this partial list:
     -Cuts metal, plastic, wood, drywall, laminate, pipe and much more.
     -Detail sands even into tight corners.

What can the Fein Multimaster do?

The Multimaster does have a few good competitors:
     -Bosch Multi Max.  Great cordless version of the tool
     -Rockwell Sonicrafter.  Mid range pricing with nice kit.
     -Dremel.  Lower cost tool, some great pricing on reconditioned units.
    

If you have old grout or a bad tile that needsreplacing, you know you have a huge job ahead of you. I have to admit,I wouldn't know where to start if I hadn't seen the commercial for theFein Multimaster Tool. These oscillating tools are really a time saveron this type of job.

You will obviously need the tool itself butyou will also need to get the proper blade. You will need a diamond orcarbide grit blade. Don't worry they are easy to find. Just do a searchfor grout removal blade and you will have plenty to choose from.

Ifyou have an area to practice on even if it is just cutting with a woodblade to get the feel of the tool, it would be a good idea. These toolsare very smooth and easy to control, but why not get a little feel forthe tool before you start in on your tile.

You of course willneed safety glasses and a dust mask is also recommended. The grout willproduce a very fine dust that you just don't need in your lungs. Aswith any power tool, it is best to let the tool work at it's own speed.Forcing the blade through really only benefits the repair center andthe blade manufacturer.

If you are actually going to replace atile or tiles, you may want a thin scraping blade. These blades willget behind the tile and make it easy to flip the tiles right off.

Removing grout is just one great use for the Fein Multimaster Tool. If you arebuying a Fein Multimaster Tool, I recommend getting a kit that hasseveral types of blades. Once you have this tool in your collection,you will find many uses for this versatile little tool.
