Multimaster Tools

What is a multimaster? Well, actually the term multimaster, comes from the company Fein who came out with the oscillating tool called the multimaster. Just like the term Kleenex is used interchangeably with tissue, so the term multimaster can refer to any oscillating type tool that has multiple functions. But you already know that!

If you are here, you are looking for a good deal on a multimaster type tool. You can find these tools being made by Fein, Bosch, Rockwell, Dremel along with some other smaller off brands. Rigid now offers a multimaster type tool and surely DeWalt, Makita and Milwaukee won't be far behind.

A multimaster tool has many different applications. Look at any add for these tools and you will see the multimaster being used for removing grout, cutting in boxes in drywall, installing laminate flooring, flush cutting pipes and the list really can go on forever. As the selection continues to grow, you will want to consider a few things.

First off, decide what you want from the tool. If you just want to use it for a few jobs here and there around the house, consider one of the less expensive models. Dremel offers a very nice unit and you can find them under $100. If you are a contractor, you may want to stick with one of the
higher end multimaster tools like the Fein or the Bosch. A very good middle of the road choice is the Rockwell Sonicrafter. You can buy a nice set with a variety of blades in a nice bag for around $175. From there, you have the option of a few different combo kits and some cordless models.

If you are looking to buy a multimaster as a tool and you are not sure, the middle of the road Sonicrafter is a safe bet. Better yet, a gift card with a note "for your new multimaster tool" will surely put you in good shape. Check Amazon for great deals on these handy little tools.
